Gemini 3.5 Flash deprecated, requests now routed to 3.6 Flash

gemini-3.5-flash is deprecated and no longer selectable in AI Studio. API requests to gemini-3.5-flash are automatically served by gemini-3.6-flash.

Who is affected:

Apps calling gemini-3.5-flash, which now get gemini-3.6-flash responses.

Action needed:

Update the model string to gemini-3.6-flash or gemini-3.8-flash and retest.

Copilot removes Claude Opus 4.7, Kimi K2.7 Code, Gemini 3.5 Flash and 3.6 Flash

GitHub removed four models from all Copilot experiences, announced on September 3. Suggested replacements are Claude Opus 5.5, Kimi K3 and Gemini 3.8 Flash.

Google released gemini-3.6-flash, with better token efficiency at a lower price than 3.5 Flash, and gemini-3.5-flash-lite, a low-latency, low-cost option for high-volume automation.

Gemini deprecates temperature, top_p and top_k

Google deprecated the temperature, top_p and top_k sampling parameters. The Gemini 3.6 Flash guide says the API ignores them now and will return an HTTP 400 error for them in future model generations.
