Google released deep-research-preview-04-2026 (built for speed and streaming) and deep-research-max-preview-04-2026 (maximum comprehensiveness), adding collaborative planning, visualization, MCP server integration and File Search.

Apps that run the Deep Research agent through the Gemini Interactions API.
What to do:
Evaluate the new agent versions. The older deep-research-pro-preview-12-2025 was later scheduled for shutdown.
