Google launches Gemini CLI, a free open-source agent for the terminal

Google released Gemini CLI, an open-source AI agent that runs in the terminal. Signing in with a personal Google account gives free access to Gemini 2.5 Pro with a 1 million token context window, at up to 60 model requests per minute and 1,000 requests per day.
